The AVG was composed of pilots from the United States Army Air Corps, Navy, and Marine Corps and equipped with Curtiss P40 Warhawk. With the iconic shark mouth nose art the Flying Tigers and their aircraft remain arguably the most recognisable squadron and warbird today.
